Flagship Programmes: What You Can Commission

ATR Academy is built around three connected areas of focus:

  • Workforce development, CPD & accreditation

We provide high-quality learning and development that supports people at every level of an organisation, from introductory awareness through to advanced practice, leadership development, board-level understanding, train-the-trainer models, fellowship pathways, CPD and accreditation routes where appropriate.

  • Workforce wellbeing & support

We support organisations to look after the people doing emotionally demanding work. This includes workforce wellbeing, reflective practice, psychologically safe learning spaces, vicarious trauma awareness, supervision-informed approaches, debriefing, peer support and support for teams working under pressure.

  • Networking, resources & shared learning

We create spaces for connection, learning and shared practice through communities of practice, learning networks, digital resources, toolkits, templates and access to the ATR Digital Hub where commissioned. This helps organisations sustain momentum beyond individual training sessions.

Our training is credible, co-produced and grounded in real-world practice. It is delivered by experienced practitioners who have led and embedded trauma-informed and trauma-responsive work in real services, organisations and systems. Our portfolio is modular, sector-specific and accreditation-friendly. Every course is shaped by evidence, lived experience and practice insight, and is underpinned by the ATR Knowledge and Competency Framework.

We offer face-to-face, virtual and blended delivery. A detailed ATR Academy training prospectus, including course outlines, learning outcomes, durations and indicative pricing, is available on request.

Who ATR Academy Is For

Through ATR Academy, partners can commission:

  • Foundation, intermediate and advanced trauma-informed and trauma-responsive training, from introductory awareness through to specialist practitioner and leadership levels.

  • Sector-specific programmes for corporate workforces, financial services, retail, hospitality and customer-facing teams, health, social care, education, justice, policing, probation, prisons, housing and VCSE settings.

  • Train-the-trainer and fellowship pathways that build internal capability, so trauma-responsive practice is owned and sustained within the organisation rather than dependent on external delivery.

  • Leadership and board development for executive teams, non-executive directors, trustees, senior leaders and commissioners who need to understand the strategic, cultural and operational implications of trauma-responsive practice.

  • Workforce wellbeing and reflective practice programmes that support staff exposed to adversity, distress, conflict, aggression, complexity, vicarious trauma or moral injury.

  • Digital learning and resource access, including curated e-learning, implementation tools, templates, videos and practical resources through the ATR Digital Hub where commissioned.

  • Bespoke programmes designed around your workforce, organisational context, sector, risks, priorities and intended outcomes.

Choose ATR Academy when you want to build capability, strengthen culture, support workforce wellbeing and create the learning infrastructure needed for trauma-responsive practice to become part of how your organisation works every day.

How We Measure Success

We measure success by looking at what changes for people, teams, organisations and systems after they engage with ATR Academy. Attendance numbers matter, but they are only one part of the picture. Our focus is on whether learning translates into confidence, safer practice, stronger workforce wellbeing and sustained organisational change.

At the start of each commission, we agree the outcomes that matter most to the partner. This may include workforce confidence, trauma-responsive knowledge, leadership capability, staff wellbeing, reflective practice, culture change, service improvement, customer or service-user experience, or progress against an organisational trauma-informed development plan.

For workforce development, CPD and accreditation, we measure participation, completion, confidence before and after learning, application of knowledge into practice, progression through learning pathways, train-the-trainer reach, CPD evidence and, where relevant, accreditation or competency milestones.

For workforce wellbeing and support, we look at whether staff feel safer, more confident and better supported in emotionally demanding work. This can include reflective practice participation, feedback from teams, changes in confidence around vicarious trauma and burnout, manager capability, psychological safety, sickness absence, retention, staff engagement and qualitative stories of change.

For networking, resources and shared learning, we measure engagement with communities of practice, use of resources, access to the ATR Digital Hub, attendance at learning events, peer connection, shared problem-solving, and evidence that organisations are sustaining momentum beyond individual training sessions.

Where partners want deeper evaluation, we can also track longer-term outcomes through follow-up surveys, reflective interviews, case studies, maturity assessments, organisational diagnostics, implementation reviews and social value reporting.

Our success measures are designed to answer three simple questions:

  • What did people learn?

  • What changed in practice?

  • What difference did it make to people, teams, organisations and systems?

This means partners receive evidence that is useful for boards, commissioners, funders, regulators and internal learning — but also meaningful to the people doing the work.
